Virgil Lee Owens

Newton Falls - Virgil Lee Owens, 72, passed away January 24, 2026 after an extended illness in Akron.
Virgil was born on July 17, 1953 in Braceville Twp., OH, the son of the late Early and Marie (Broome) Owens.
Some of Virgil's favorite pastimes were fishing, listening to music , and dancing.
He is survived by his children, Aleatha Barnes, Tangela Hugley, Vernesha Owens, Ver' Dajsa Owens, Aswald Owens, Lance Owens, Javail Owens, Rodrick Taylor, Tarayl Fleming; siblings, Darlene Owens of Sharon, PA, Valerie Owens of Warren, Shree Johnson of Warren, Theresa Scott of Warren, Trevis (Yana) Owens of Smyrna, GA, and Fern (Mark) Shaw of Warren; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Virgil Owens Jr.; and siblings, Lance Owens, Darius Owens, and Rahn Owens.
A funeral service will be held Thursday February 5, 2026 at 12, Noon at Believers Chapel, 2609 Weir Rd. NE, Warren. Vistiation will be held one hour prior at the church. Burial will be a Bracecille Township Cemetery.
